Tracing your family history?
Whilst some more recent records are still retained in the Street parishes, all the earlier records relating to baptisms, marriages and burials are now lodged with The Borthwick Institute at York University. They can be contacted by following this link. The City of York and District Family History Society is another possible source of help. They have a full record of Slingsby Church and Churchyard Burials and further information concerning burials in many churchyards in this part of North Yorkshire. Details are on their website here.
