We are always happy to assist with this.

Death and Dying
For some people, it is important to see a minister before they die.
When we visit someone who is close to death, we can offer them reassurance about God’s love for them and we can pray with and for them.
If you would like a minister to visit a loved one, as they near death, please call
Revd Jane 07535 067056 or contact one of the churchwardens.
Funerals
- with you every step of the way
We can be with you:
♦ As your loved one nears death
♦ As you plan the funeral
♦ During the funeral
♦ After the funeral and whenever you need us
♦ As you remember your loved one around
anniversaries / special dates
Our ministers can lead a funeral which is in church, by a graveside, or at a crematorium.
In a Christian service, your loved one will be placed in the loving care of God.
Our services are personal, tailored to the life and preferences of your loved one.
Some of the ways we personalise a funeral service are:
♦ by offering a tribute (also known as a eulogy)
♦ in the choice of music
♦ in readings (a Bible reading and sometimes a poem or two)
♦ in what is on display during the service or placed on the coffin
To arrange a funeral to be led by us, just let your funeral director know and they will contact us.
However, you are very welcome to call us directly if you wish.
Why bother with a funeral?
Funerals are important to those who are bereaved.
A funeral marks both an ending and a beginning. It gives us a chance to formally say goodbye to a loved one, along with others who were close to the person who has died. We share stories and memories – laughs and tears.
Whilst grief continues afterwards, a funeral is an important step in our journey. It begins a new season of learning to live without our loved one.
In a Christian funeral, we look back at the lives we shared and we look forward with hope. We are reminded that earthly life is not the end, God’s love for us continues.
