SUNDAYS
Holy Communion
There will normally be a service of Holy Communion, in at least one of our churches each Sunday. Holy Communion is the service in which we take bread and wine to remember Jesus’ sacrifice upon the cross. Hymns will be accompanied by organ music, and on occasion our Music Group and Choir. Generally, these services last about an hour.
Mini Church at Amotherby, 9am on the second Sunday of each month
A service designed for young families, with interactive Bible stories, exciting games and activities, creative crafts, music and singing, friendship and fun. The service lasts just 30 minutes with refreshments afterwards.
Morning Prayer at Hovingham
A simple service of worship, prayer, scripture and song. The service lasts around 45 minutes with refreshments afterwards.
Morning Praise at Hovingham
A less formal service of worship, prayer, scripture and song. The service lasts around 45 minutes with refreshments afterwards.
Matins at Slingsby
A service of morning prayer, using traditional language from the Book of Common Prayer.
5th Sundays
When the month includes a 5th Sunday, we tend to hold services with a special theme, often untied with our Methodist congregations.
WEDNESDAYS
There is a service at All Saints’ Slingsby every Wednesday at 9.30am, followed by coffee. Most weeks it is Morning Prayer, led by one of our lay people. On the 3rd Wednesday, it is a simple service of Holy Communion, without any hymns. It lasts about 30 minutes.
